How lenient can we be with awards and advancements in cub scouts?
We have a leader that worked on electives with the wolves…. however only completed 8 out of the 12 advancement requirements for the wolf badge. he says that the boys earned the badge however this is not the case. What should we do? I would hate to have them not earn the badge… but the requirements are set there for a reason. Graduation is this Saturday…..HELP!
Hello alslater:
Wow! what a disappointment for the boys, the adults really let them down. The requirements must be completed for the boy to earn the rank, however the motto is Do My Best, not Be Perfect. The requirements are designed for a second grade boy to complete within a year. Most of the things they would do without the book to guide them. Are you 100% positive that the boys did not work with their parents on the other four electives at home, on their own time? Did they do the elective during a family vacation or at school? Could each parent sit down with their son and review all of the requirements and remember when they did them, sign the book, and be able to present the Wolf diamond at the Pack meeting?
