Scouting operates through volunteering. Volunteers are an example of the Scouting principle of service to others. Naturally, parents are the primary source of volunteers in our Scouting program. You volunteer not only to serve Scouting, but also to serve your son and his friends, and to have a chance to be a positive influence on the youth in our community. A background in Scouting is not required to volunteer. The only thing needed is the desire to help and to ensure the best for your son and his friends. Many opportunities exist in Pack 201 to volunteer, from lending a hand setting up, to being a member of a sub-committee for a special activity, to being a Committee Member for the Pack, to serving as a Den Leader or Assistant Den Leader. This could mean one hour a year, or an hour each week. What ever you can do to ensure your son has the obsolute best experience is an excellent place to start to explore how you can help.
